Read your storage at a glance.
Choose a cushion treemap, flat treemap, or sunburst view of indexed storage. Larger areas represent larger indexed items, helping you compare where the space goes.
DISK SPACE FOR MAC
Explore a visual map of the files and folders taking up storage. Instrument Task Manager helps you inspect larger items before choosing what to remove.
A CLOSER LOOK
Choose a cushion treemap, flat treemap, or sunburst view of indexed storage. Larger areas represent larger indexed items, helping you compare where the space goes.
Use Largest to review files found by the scan, or explore Kinds and Age for another view of their contents. Reveal an item in Finder before deciding whether to keep it or move it to Trash.
The map uses allocated file sizes where available and reflects items ITM can index. Permissions, excluded personal and cloud-library locations, and app-bundle handling can make the result differ from the volume’s used-storage figure.
IN THE APP
Open Disk Space, select the drive or one of the listed folder targets, and start a scan.
Compare larger areas in the map. Use the Largest, Kinds, or Age view to investigate the indexed items.
Reveal an item in Finder to confirm what it is. Move to Trash is a separate action you choose; scanning does not delete files.
USEFUL TO KNOW
Yes. The Largest view ranks files found by the scan, with a current size cutoff of over 2 MB. You can reveal an item in Finder to inspect it.
No. A scan reads storage information. Moving a file or folder to Trash requires a separate action that you select.
The scan reflects indexed items and uses allocated sizes where available. Permissions, excluded locations, and app-bundle handling affect coverage, so the map may differ from the volume’s used-storage total.
Coverage depends on macOS permissions, and ITM intentionally excludes certain personal and cloud-library locations. Granting broader access does not guarantee complete coverage.
